I tested the effectiveness of cooling gel, EightSleep, BedJet and other cooling beds
I set up an experiment to measure precisely how much cooling ability is offered by various mattress and mattress cooling technologies. I used a Raspberry Pi and some digital temperature sensors and logged the temperature inside a big blue drum of water over time.

How to turn off (and KEEP off) the automatic wipers in a Tesla Model 3

    Hi, I just find out this video, and I have an idea. Why don't you 3d print a face down cover that replace the original big air tunnel allowing the air intake from the bottom of the car so we can just remove the original one and install the new face down vent cover. And for the vent-in opening under the hood, since we don't really need it, print another cover just block it for good. I think that will solve the most of the issue, and the only thing we need to concern is the air quality if we pull air from the bottom and inside the motor compartment. That might just be another proofing video for you to make lol.

    • @adamdport
      @adamdport 2 дні тому

      @@DDnight546 removing the duct entirely accomplishes the same task-I don't see any advantage of replacing it with a different style of duct. By leaving the vent opening unobstructed, air is allowed to enter there, though I'm not aware of anything inside the motor compartment that would compromise air quality anyway. Does that make sense?

    • @DDnight546
      @DDnight546 День тому

      @@adamdport Yeah, I agree. However, if I left the vent completely open and didn't cover the upper vent on the hood, there might be some water pouring from the top opening and spraying onto the under-hood vent while driving in the rain. If there's a cover facing downward, it might be more secure than just leaving it bare. It's mostly a feeling issue, though.

    I truly appreciate your explanation of why we have to use the auto wipers when using cruise control. It now makes sense why they cannot fix this issue of the wipers switching to auto mode when using cruise. They have to use auto. As a side note could you consider making a video on the after market anti nag devices. I really need to turn nag off with my driving style. Or if you have a better solution. I am tired of waiting for Tesla to fix or possible not be able to fix the nag.

    • @adamdport
      @adamdport 4 дні тому

      @@michaelwittman1935 probably not something I'll cover. Tesla added it as a "safety feature" to ensure your hands are on the wheel. There are a bunch of videos of people literally sleeping behind the wheel before they added it-not a good look for them. Other manufacturers have gone a different direction though if you were open to switching brands. Ford, for example, I believe just tracks eye movements and doesn't require your hands to be on the wheel. They also have access to Tesla's supercharger network now.

    I'm thinking, what if the drain hole gets clogged and fills up that little basin and can't drain fast enough. I have a portable AC in my room when one night i was sleeping and was awaken by the sound of water splashing everywhere. I had never had this issue before so i thought the collection basin on the bottom was just full. I emptied it and it wasn't much water so i was confused. The problem kept persisting and water kept building up in the cavity where the fan was and the fan was spinning water everywhere. I took it apart and found the hole at the top that drains water through the evaporator dry off and whatever water doesn't, drips into the basin, was plugged up with dust. So the dust was preventing the water from draining quicky and causing it to buildup which explains why there was no water in the basin until hours after i turned it off and it slowly drained. Maybe some people's drain holes get clogged based on where they live and what is being sucked in and getting past the filter, IDK I'm just yapping😂

    Guide pins are fine with silicone based lubricants, but things like your brake pads should only used metallic based lubricants. Daily driving, you should be fine with using an aluminum anti-seize, whereas with more aggressive driving you will want a copper anti-seize. Silicone based lubricant is not meant for high temp parts.

    • @adamdport
      @adamdport 6 днів тому

      Anti-seize is not meant to be used as a lubricant or on anything that moves-it's just meant to keep stuff from seizing so you can disassemble it later. It can also cake up, wash off, etc. The stuff I used says it can be used everywhere I used it on, including boots and pads. It is specifically formulated for extreme temperatures up to 3000°F, about double that of anti-seize.
